Energy Efficiency Programme

Initiatives in pipeline

1) Designating Directorate, Municipal Administration as single state level Nodal Agency for energy efficiency programme for all the components i.e. Water Supply Installation, Street Lights & Sewerage Treatment Plants.

2) Initiate investment Grade Energy Audit in all the 213 ULBs to assess the potential for the Energy Savings.

3) Designating City Managers Association Karnataka (CMAK) as coordinating agency for Energy Efficiency programme for conducting training programmes.

4) Encourage ULBs to adopt sustainable & renewable energy sources i.e. solar & wind energy.

5) Creation of exclusive cell in DMA for the monitoring of Energy conservation schemes being implemented in ULBs.
